Honestly, I’ve been kind of curious about these novellas since they’re so short, and thought it would be good to help meet my Kindle reading goal. Anyway out of all of them, this one was the one I was most curious about, and I ended up picking it up because of a book club pick. It wasn’t terrible but things were really fast, and I wish we had more groveling/tension. I do like that we went back in time to see just how much history the main characters had. It wasn’t bad, and maybe we would’ve enjoyed it a little more if we had his POV too but at the same time, we get a lot of his feelings and thoughts. It might just fall where this one is just a little too short and I needed things to simmer a little more.
