Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren

It was really good—
I was hooked for a lot of it—
But
The end was unexpectedly heavy and sad and it just kinda overshadowed the happy ending for me.
Also
Leading up to that ending, I was thrown off by how fast Macy and Elliot's reconnection started moving. They still hadn't talked about the past but were acting like a couple and like everything was just dandy. They were really wrapped up in their physical desire for each other. It was weird to me considering it had been like eleven years since they'd seen each other and had also left each other on really negative terms and neither of them ever recovered from the damage. But that's probably just me, thinking they would've needed more time to get reacquainted emotionally before tearing off clothes at Elliot's brother's wedding or that it was weird they would have sex right after Macy finally tells Elliot about her dad's tragic death and her yearslong depression
