Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.

I just can’t. There’s a lot of morals I can push aside, and a lot of suspension of disbelief happening when I’m reading a dark romance, but he drugged her twice, lied a whole bunch, and then tattooed her finger while she was drugged. And the thing is she is so desperate and pathetic, all he had to do was be like hey you’re hot and I wanna bang you, and also I need your help, and she’s pathetic so she would have been like yes ok! And that would have saved literally 100 pages off the book, and we could have just gotten to the danger and murder part. There’s always one in a series that I hate, and this is that one, and instead of pushing through like usual, I’m just throwing away the towel.
There is also that whole swapping out her birth control and if it weren’t for all the other nonsense I could look past that because it is a forced proximity mafia romance, but nope. Not ok
