The Difference Engine by William Gibson
3.0

Long. The individual plots didn't really hold my attention very much, and I felt that they weren't resolved satisfactorily. But the world itself was utterly enthralling. I was mesmerized by the steampunk world of thinking engines. They went to great lengths to get the nitty gritty details right. It felt very genuine.
