The Skeletons of Scarborough House by Josie Silver, Kitty French
4.0
As soon as I saw the cover and read the description for this novel I knew I had to read it.
I loved the film Ghostbusters so had a feeling I was going to enjoy this novel, and I did.
Melody and the other female relations in her family seem to have a genetic gift that gets past down of being able to see ghosts.
I think most of us would think it’s pretty awesome to be able to see dead people but not for Melody. I suppose seeing them at inappropriate times must take it’s toll, that’s why she decides to set up her own company to get rid of them and send the spirits on their merry way.
Melody is a great character and along with a few other characters, bring a lot of fun to the story.
Lestat the pug has to get a special mention as he does steal the lime light some what from the other characters. For such a small animal he certainly has one big personality. I’ve never been much of a lover of the pug breed but after reading this, I so want one.
I have no idea if this is the start to a new series or a stand alone but I would certainly love to see more of Melody and her quirky family and friends.
Melody Bittersweet and The Girls’ Ghostbusting Agency is a light hearted read that is a lot of fun and is very entertaining. It had just the right amount of fun, mystery, suspense and a little bit of romance thrown in for good measure. Great fun.
My thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
