Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout

3.0

This was a good prequel novella! I don't know how much this 71-paged story will be useful in the main series, but I'll let ya know!

Daimon follows 17-year-old Alex. She and her mother have run away from the Covenant; a school where Pure-Bloods are worshipped and Half-Bloods are their protectors. She comes home one day to find her mother murdered by a daimon and is now homeless and on the run.

In this universe, Pure-Bloods are directly descended from the Gods i.e. Apollo. Half-Bloods mean a human and a Pure-Blood did the dirty and now Half-Bloods are the only ones who can see the daimons in their natural form. Thus, they are the protectors of the Pure-Bloods and go to school at the Covenant to train as is their duty. (A bit convoluted of an explanation, but you get the point, yeah?"

I'm so excited for the rest of this series!

(I don't own this book physically, I read it in the new Bloom Books edition of Half-Blood as the prequel novella is included in the front! I look forward to the rest of the series!)
