A story of love, grief, complicated family dynamics, taking risks, and putting your faith in the universe's plan. I loved the development of Samantha and Xavier's characters and their love for each other. S and X's relationship felt so undeniably meant-to-be and you couldn't help but root for them. I appreciated that the financial barriers to fly back and forth was a part of the characters' reality. I love that Xavier had a chosen family who loved him (e.g., his childhood friends, coworkers, & Hank). I felt sorry for the caretaker fatigue that Samantha's family experienced taking care of their mom with dementia. I would never want to grieve a parent while they're still alive and S and X both experienced this in different ways.

UGH I'm so excited for this next series! Even if I forget the plot, I want to remember how GREAT this book made me feel throughout and as soon as I was done reading it. It's one of those "I wish I could read for the first time again" books. Easily 5/5⭐️
