It was a pleasant ride, I had a good time, enjoyed it immensely but I don’t think that it’ll leave a lasting impression. The whole concept is interesting, dwelling into what humanity would be if we’ve all became immortal. I wished for more active reflection on that and there is hope that it’ll get explored more in depth in next instalments because here we got a very solid groundwork. Especially when we talk about coprotagonists, where neither of them emerges as deutragonist (which hopefully won’t change in the next books) - the author diving depth and complexity to both equally which is especially striking how different they grew from starting on the same moral ground
I have to admit though that there were moments of pure plot euphoria (especially in the last chapter) when things just made perfect sense, fell together in such a satisfying way that I couldn’t help but squeak from reader’s joy
