The Wind in the Willows
by Kenneth Grahame
I've listened to Wind in the Willows on audiobook before, but this was my first time reading it. This edition is illustrated by Chris Dunn, who has a love and gift for painting animal characters. He's one of my favorite artists and I bought this specifically for his work. It's a gorgeous hardcover with spot illustrations in the text as well as full-page and even double-page spreads.
Grahame's prose is just as beautiful. From the opening description of Mole's abandoning his Spring Cleaning to the final, perfect conclusion and all the adventures in between, it's one of my favorite books ever.
