This is great WW II historical fiction, focusing on Malaysia and the British / Japanese impact.
I loved that there was dual timelines and multiple point of views, including children. First book I’ve read about war through the eyes of children (different ages too so different POVs).
It started strong but I found the middle to drag so I lost a bit of interest and found it to be slow, but it ended incredibly well.
