What an ending to this trilogy. I will say I sat here and tuned everything and everyone out as I devoured this book. We pick right up where Flame leaves off. However, in Ashes we delve deeper into just what Maddie went through the years she was not with Patrick. I will say the emotions that I went through while reading this had my husband shaking his head wondering if his wife had finally lost it. First off you will be angry at the horrific things she endured, second you are heart will break for the exact same reason, and thirdly your heart will soar with how everything plays out. Maddie has got to be one of the strongest heroines I have read in a long time. No matter what life threw at her she never let it tear her down. Patrick is so swoon-worthy, because no matter what happened with her he showed her that his love was undeniable and unwavering.
This author has the talent of writing with such conviction that you can't help but be pulled in from the very beginning. All the questions you have from the other book are answered within the pages of this masterpiece.
