Seasons of the Storm by Elle Cosimano

3.0

“We’ve been hunted so long, we almost forgot what it feels like to be the hunters.”

I wanted to love this book — I really, really did. But as fun as the premise seemed, the execution was lackluster. I never felt connected to the character or the danger they faced. The plot had breadth but the depth was nonexistent, details were skimmed over, making a potentially explosive plot line merely simmer gently. Moreover, the ending wasn’t explained well enough nor lengthy enough to give closure to the characters. And as much as I want to label this as a romance novel — it felt fleeting & forced almost.

I think that was the greatest issue with this novel for me — I didn’t believe in the relationships the book portrays enough. And when the foundation is weak, everyone else crumbles.
