The book started slow but then picked up almost halfway through. I neglected to read the Acknowledgments in the front of the book. I wish I had because then I would have know from the beginning that this was a real institution where terrible things happened. Kiddos to this author for her ability to so vividly describe the inner dwellings of the institution.
