This was a cute story. Not much happens. It’s your typical falling in love on a slow journey romance. The various characters they met on the road were really fun. I like how the MMC was a softer character. But his softness didn’t vibe with his scary reputation in town. It was never explained why people were cowed by him or why he was such a good fighter when his history is just a blacksmith. I also didn’t like the ending. Because I know love triumphs over money but they have no money or income now. And that was unnecessary. They could have waited a week and sold the ring and given the parents a bit and actually planned a future. They’re just going to walk for weeks to some other village where they don’t know anyone and chop wood for accommodations on the way? That’s not a HEA for me.
