The Restaurant at the End of the Universe if by far my favorite out of the Hitchhiker's series.  Actually, it might be one of my most favorite Science Fiction books ever.  I have read this book so many times that I can't even count at this point.  I have certainly read this one more than any of the other Hitchhiker's books.  I think that it is ten times funnier than the others, but that is just my humble opinion. :-)

This book is awesome.  I mean, it starts out with Arthur Dent trying to make a proper cup of tea and in doing so, almost gets the Heart of Gold blown up by Vogons.  We get to see the headquarters of the Hitchhiker's Guide.  Heck, we even get to go to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe.  This book is highly entertaining.  The scene with Marvin and the killer robot is a hoot!  Expect to be very well entertained.

This book continues to follow Arthur, Zaphod, Trillian, and Ford, while exploring their characters in more depth.  Zaphod has some absolutely hilarious moments, and overall, the situations and reactions from all of the characters are great.  I think that this book in particular from the series really brings out the awesomeness that are these characters.

This book may be fun and quirky, but it actually has a lot going on with it--just like with the other Hitchhiker's books.  Restaurant continues the series with strong satire, including Douglas Adams' sarcastic, witty humor.  Yes, a lot of it is silly, but there's actually a lot more deeper meaning.

Overall, this book rocks.  I highly, highly recommend it.  Obviously, if you are new to the series, I would start off the first book.  But read it quickly, so you can get to this one.  Five stars.
