Fairy Tale
by Stephen King
This is absolutely outside of Stephen King’s standard so if you typically aren’t a King fan, please try this!
It’s a standalone though it does connect with the rest of the King-verse, mainly The Dark Tower.
A fantastic fantasy read with a dog companion, I don’t know how anyone can dislike this tale. It has adventure, a princess, a kingdom in peril, and the element I think anyone who has ever loved an animal can connect to: the desire for them to be with us for longer than they are.
It’s truly touching and beautiful, and while it sets up for another story, I could just as easily be okay without one, because it wrapped up very well on itself.
