Talking to Strangers
by Malcolm Gladwell

After 6.5 hours I just didn't want to listen anymore. The audiobook was very well produced and the storytelling was generally very engaging. However, multiple chapters utilize horrific stories of police brutality, sexual assault, and murder to explore the theories presented and it was exhausting. There were several interesting points made but many of the cases examined were far too complex (and horrific) to truly support the ideas - the analysis ended up feeling reductive and at times insensitive and naive. It felt like the case were chosen almost for the sake of having a controversial hot take.
