Fun, fast paced read. I read this wayyyyy back in 2006 (or so) and found it kind of to "pulpy". I actually read the first 3 books but upon re-read I did enjoy this a lot more. Of course, I have been watching BookTube gushing over this series and that was what encouraged me to pick up all 15 volumes of this series. I also needed a "break" from epic fantasy/sci-fi. Loved every minute of this first book and now I'm on to my second.

If you enjoy TV series like Supernatural, BTVS and Angel you will enjoy this series. Highly recommend if. Great characters, fun stories and methodical world building.
