Not horrible but typical. While Max makes it known he only preys upon a certain type of woman (the insecure type), he does own up to his actions. That he owns up to everything doesn't make him an asshole, necessarily. It does make him an insecure man himself, which comes out in the book. I will also give him credit for the statements he makes to women (to women readers) on being treated with respect. I was shocked but pleased. He is right in regards to those statements.
