my favorite part about this book is the way that it takes the common trope of a disease causing the end of civilization and does something unique with it through the fluidity of time. the way we jump back and forth is effortlessly done and weaves a tale where we get to watch people living a life, not just acting for the purpose of the plot. it helps all of the characters feel so real. i love this writing style and can't wait to read more of Mandel's works!
