Vampire Verloren lives a rather mundane existence, he feeds when necessary, works as a way to pass time, and hangs out with his fellow co-owners of his shop who are species but they have found a habitable existence. When Ashley walks into his store, he is floored. Her aura radiates and looks to be on the verge of a change, but us unsure of it. Verloren doesn't see a future with the woman he is quickly falling deeply for, he is Vampire and she is human, at least for now. He would crush her, but she is not scared of him nor is she backing down from what she feels for Verloren.

Uniquely creative story, unlike any vampire books I have read. Verloren is a monster, he looks like a goth albino and relishes his kills. You would think this would be a deterrent from liking his character, but it is not, he is just as vulnerable and he offers no excuses for what he is. Ashley is a fighter and turns out to be quite remarkable. I thought this was a breath of fresh air.
