Lost Love Found
by Cristina Santos
Lost Love Found is a cute and romantic story about Adam (River), a famous actor, and Elaina (Lainey), an up-and-coming set designer. They meet through mutual friends, and since neither is looking for more, they decide to hang out and be friends. River doesn't date and tries to keep his personal life private. People are starting to talk about why he is never seen dating anyone, and he is getting negative press. His publicist has been pushing him to find someone to date and settle down with, or at least appear to, as it will help his public image and career. When videos of River and Lainey together show up on the gossip blogs, Lainey agrees to pretend to be River's girlfriend. As River and Lainey spend more time together, deeper feelings develop. River completely falls for Lainey and will do what it takes to let her see he is the right man for her, even if that means giving her time while helping her heal from her past trauma.
The beauty of this story really pulled me in. I love love, and Cristina definitely knows how to write a wonderful love story. The characters are likable, relatable, have depth, and experience lots of growth. River and Lainey are genuinely good people with big hearts, and their backstories are gripping. They are good together, but unfortunately, the pain from past trauma gets in the way, leading to misunderstanding and miscommunication. River and Lainey's love story is an emotional slow burn. Lainey leaves River in the friend zone for most of the story, but he is incredibly patient. River is what book boyfriends are made of. He's a sweet soul. I loved their shared love of music and how things felt so easy when they spent time together. Lainey needed some time to focus on herself, but eventually, they were able to get past their trauma and embrace the love they had for each other. It was impossible not to fall in love with these two wonderful people.
Narration:
Elisabeth Leigh and Conor McGee perform this audiobook in dual-style narration. The narrators did well with the story, and I enjoyed their portrayal of Elaina and Adam. Lost Love Found is a well-written, beautiful story. The narration allowed me to feel every emotion. The production had some hiccups, but that did not keep me from enjoying the story.
