Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
5.0
Absolutely gripping.
This is a story about feminine rage; about our struggles and the harsh reality we live in. A criticism of the patriarchy. It may be fantasy, but it truly sets a new example for women everywhere. The main protagonist is much easier to relate to than most female main characters in the books I read as she's created with such great depth. She's both good and bad. She holds the thoughts and feelings of many women. It was refreshing to have a female protagonist break the mold. My only gripe is that it shouldn't be marketed as a love triangle. It's poly and gay.
Describing the book in 5 words: Patriarchy criticism and feminine rage.
