Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin
3.5

This book really does pick up right where the first one finishes, so if you are reading them all in one go it probably flows quite nicely, however as someone who took a break from reading the series, it meant that it started off quite slow. I am intrigued to find out where the next book goes though.

This has a lot of miscommunication.  Lou and Reid are not good at explaining themselves to one another or expressing themselves, they just end up hiding things from the other and then storming off. I think if that had happened once it would have been okay, but it happened so many times it got quite repetitive. When they were expressing themselves it was really satisfying and I did enjoy their dynamic when they were honest with each other.

This book has no need to be this long, it could probably have been 200 pages shorter and it wouldn’t have lost anything significant. The first 60% was all planning and arguments that could have been condensed down so this wouldn’t be as long. I have a feeling that once I’ve read the next book, that I will think that this would have been better as a duology because this felt like a lot of filler.
