Taking Chances
by Molly McAdams
I first read "Taking Chances" a decade ago, and it completely wrecked me. This book evoked a spectrum of emotions that I didn't know I could feel. A few days ago, I decided to revisit this emotional rollercoaster in preparation for reading Stealing Chances. Remarkably, even after all these years, Taking Chances still wrecked me in ways I could never have imagined.
Molly McAdams masterfully weaves a tale that is both heart-wrenching and uplifting. The characters are so vividly drawn, and their experiences so profoundly real that I found myself deeply invested in their journeys. The emotional impact of their stories left me bawling my eyes out and sobbing like a child, a testament to the powerful storytelling.
Taking Chances remains one of my all-time favourite books. Its ability to touch the depths of my heart, both during my first read and my recent reread, speaks to its timelessness and emotional resonance. If you haven't yet experienced this book, I highly recommend it – just be prepared for the emotional ride of your life.
PS: I still won't forgive the author for killing my favourite character, although with the alternate universe of Stealing Chances, I might change my mind.
