i saw the netflix series based on this book first and while i thought it was severely cheesy and objectively not that good, the book was lowk worse. usually romance books are always a good read and i find myself wanting to be immersed in that specific world again, not really the case with this book. there was no real climax whatsoever. the ending of the series was much better than the ending of the book. i’m not sure if there will be another book after this but the ending of this book was very very weak. jackie is more like able in the book. but there is no like real context as to why she would start dating alex instead of cole. like girl. you can’t just date him bc he’s safe even though you’re in love with his brother and everyone including you AND cole know that you guys like each other. also there was NO smut. like where is the fucking?? if the book and characters are going to be lowk boring and dry, at least spice it up with some porn. maybe that would have brought my rating up. but the most you read is “his hands never stopped moving from my hair to my waist.” like girl tf. that is so lame.
