Half-Moon Investigations by Eoin Colfer

4.0

Half Moon Investigations, by Eoin Colfer is about a twelve year old boy named Fletcher Moon and his adventure as a young detective, solving a case that deals with the kids in his town. Overall I quite enjoyed this story. It was a quick read for me and had several funny moments. On the other hand, it did have some very unbelievable moments that had to deal with physical injuries and just the overall stupidity of Fletcher at certain moments. Even with that said I was deducing my own culprits by the end of the book and I was wrong in my guess. This makes it even better. Nothing like being able to actually be surprised by the ending of a detective story even though the proper hunts were given.
As I mentioned before this story does include some physical maiming, which you may or may not want yourself or your young adults reading.
I gave this book four stars and would recommend this to any young adults who like Sherlock Holmes, or Dancy Drew.
