Its very modern day romance like it talks about getting high and mentioned the band HAIM (I think twice). Which for me those 2 things made it not a fiction “fantasy” love story type of book because, 1 i think drugs are dumb and bad and 2 well HAIM is a trendy band. Other than that, it was very slow and confusing in the beginning but once you get to know the characters it picks up and the plot builds pretty rapidly. The ending had a very unexpected twist from what I had expected to happen to that was fun!
