This book was simply okay. I was really drawn in by the concept of the Bachelor meets lesbian bigfoot but I was really let down plotwise. I've read a few horror books over the past couple of years that have been actually scary, but Patricia Wants to Cuddle had next to no atmosphere. We were constantly being told that someone saw something out the corner of their eye but that was really it. I got over halfway through the book and they had only just got off the boat to reach the island the book is meant to be set on, and this led to the ending feeling so rushed, including absolutely no explanation about what Maggie et. al. were really doing on the island . It also wasn't as gay as I was lead to believe which was sad! That being said, there was a lot of character work in the book which I LOVED! There were also some really sweet childhood love letters written to a lesbian character near the end of the book which were probably my favourite part!
I probably wouldn't recommend this book, though I think it would work much better as a film, but I will be keeping an eye out to see if Samantha Allen releases anything else!
