Night Embrace by Sherrilyn Kenyon
5.0

Quick Synopsis: Book is primarily about Talon, a Celtic Dark Hunter who needs to keep his emotions under firm control in order to retain his powers. He falls in love with Sunshine, a quirky artists (friends with Selene) but knows that the god who has put a curse on him will kill her if it's ever found out. The god, Camelus, together with Dionysus and Styxx (Ash's brother) have a plot to release the Atlantean Destroyer on the world, which includes Ash's death, as well as Talon's and Sunshine's. We are also introduced to werewolves (Vane and his brother) and 2 other Dark Hunters: A a Roman who hates everyone not of Roman decent and a psychotic DH from Alaska.

This book, although having all the cliche's and similar characters of the last 2 in the series, gets 5 stars from me, mainly for the plot development.

It is starting to irk me that there are always the same phrases being used ("been there, done that, and have the t-shirt to prove it" seems to be a favorite of every villain) and the same personalities (late-twenties, single female who really wants a real guy, finds him; guy thinks he isn't worth it, even though he's the most gorgeous hunk of body ever found and then even though they don't ever think it will work out, they end up being soul mates for eternity).

I really enjoyed the end of the book, I couldn't predict how Talon was going to beat Camelus (kind of sad that he actually didn't have to DO anything to beat him) but loved how Morrigane came back to help him again. Yay happy ending!
