Ivy and Ketahn are faced with a hard choice that could lead to their potential death from Zurvashi. Ketahn gathers his three friends and his sister to try and prepare the humans for a long adventure to hopefully save themselves.
After reading this one I immediately jumped into reading the third book. I couldn't contain myself. This entire series for me was a 5/5 and I would love to get the collection at some point.
Graphic: Sexual content and Death
Moderate: Violence and Sexual assault
The first book set up the entire point for Ivy. Ivy is a woman stuck on a planet with spider-like creatures called Vrix. In this book, their relationship is more established as they come to terms that they have an attraction with each other, especially for Ivy since she has a bit of a hard time coming to terms with what is going on.
As they establish themselves, more problems occur for Ketahn which leads Ivy to being endangered. Ivy wants to free the other humans from their enclosures but to do so they need help. Ketahn can’t help eight humans by himself so he asks for help from his friends: Rekosh, Urkot, and Telok. While asking for their help he ends up meeting his sister, Ahnset, who wishes to help him as well.
They begin preparations while Ivy helps the humans wake up. However, after hearing an altercation Ketahn comes in when he wasn’t supposed to and scares the shit out of all of the humans. It took a good bit before they all finally calmed down.
The group was a little shaky at first, but soon enough they were prepared to train the humans. However, one of the people in their group was extremely sick and couldn’t do too much. Ahnset, who wished to help, thought it would be best to bring the sick girl to their queen, Zurvashi. However, Ketahn refuses believing that Zurvashi would cause more harm than actually help.
Ketahn believed that Ahnset would listen to Ketahn’s wishes but Ahnset goes against Ketahn and brings her to Zurvashi. Ketahn chases after her but ends up getting there way before Ahnset could which leaves him almost raped by Zurvashi. However, once Ahnset is in the room with the sick human, Zurvashi smells the familiar scent that was on Ketahn the entire time and believed that Ketahn was mating with the sick human.
Zurvashi kills the sick human in front of everyone and leaves the entire room in shock. Ketahn is then imprisoned and Ahnset is tasked with leading Zurvashi’s army towards the rest of the humans.
This book was written with intense emotion and the desperation from Ketahn really sold me on how beautiful this book was written. After reading this one I immediately jumped onto reading the third book. I couldn’t contain myself. This entire series for me was a 5/5 and I would love to get the collection at some point.
