Death, suicide, addiction, sexual assault, drinking, religious abuse, abuse

This book is about a girl, Jen, who moves with her uber religious father to an old house that's been converted into a hotel. They're living there for the winter after the death of her alcoholic mother trying to start over. The house is kind of haunted and creepy and disturbing; there's a lot of weird and odd things going on with the house. It's kind of slightly confusing in a way because there's not like a decent plot, there's a hole in the plot I feel, like there's something missing from it,  somethings not fully there. It seems like it's just an outline and that there's really no meat to the story. The characters are kind of one dimensional and there are a few characters that are brought in or just mentioned in order to tie other characters together, they're there for no real apparent reason. There's some stuff that's left for you to assume as it's not really explained in full, like the deal with Colin. I found the ending to be kind of abrupt and it just ends and there's like no explanation, no real conclusion or tie up of lose ends nothing, it's kind of happily tied up and finished.
