This book could have been 150 pages shorter. I get that what the character went thought was very traumatic, but at some point it felt like just pilling on trauma over trauma, and it felt a bit gratuitous.
It was otherwise very informative, I didn’t know much about the Vietnam war when I started the book, and having the POV of the people who were most erased from that time was really interesting.
