Batman (1940-2011) #481 by Doug Moench
3.0
This issue marks Doug Moench's return to the helm, taking over from Alan Grant. The issue focuses on Batman’s continued battle against the criminal underworld, with a heavy emphasis on action and Batman's detective skills. While Moench introduces fresh elements and maintains solid pacing, the story lacks the grounded, gritty feel that Grant's recent issues brought to the table. The emotional depth of Bruce Wayne's character still shines through, but the tone is more traditional and less focused on the psychological weight of Gotham. It's an entertaining issue, but it doesn't quite capture the raw, realistic tension that I've been digging. Also, NO ROBIN! Sadness.
