wow!!! what a whirlwind!
today I finally finished Dracula Daily! I got behind many many times and had to read weeks' worth to catch up more than once but it feels wild that it's finally done, and that I finished it on time. I really enjoyed reading day by day and I genuinely enjoyed the story a lot. there were definitely times that were more boring than others or that I found hard to get through, but the parts that were exciting were truly a thrill. I LOVED the parts on the Demeter and the excitement of the final chase, the drama of them breaking into Dracula's house...! I got attached to the characters and grew to really care about them. My favorites were Mina and Van Helsing. it was also surprisingly funny! the lizard-like way Dracula walks... the banter between the characters was so goofy sometimes I loved it. asking if he can cut off the head of Miss Lucy? and Mina calling herself a TRAIN FIEND?? incredible writing.
Overall I enjoyed this more than I expected to and it was fun to read a classic story in full over so many months. Friend Sarah and I read together and compared notes a lot throughout. I had fun!
