This is Aidan and Marcus' second chance at love.
We know since the final chapters of The Quarterback Keeper that Aidan has always been Marcus' only love.
They met at college and stayed together for three years, they made plans to live their life together once Aidan would become a lawyer and Marcus would get his NFL contract. But Marcus' agent advised him to drop his boyfriend because as a bisexual player he would not have a chance to be traded. So he left Aidan without a word and he just disapperared.
The prologues are hard to read, both of them are devastated and while Marcus tried to move on when he got a reporter pregnant, Aidan never let himself love anyone else. He followed Marcus career and personal life through the news and he actively stayed away from him.
I'm very glad that the authors made Marcus really work to regain Aidan's trust, that he had to beg and plead for months before having his man back.
I love this series and how all the characters interact with each others, how their lives are connected.
I recently reread this book and I updated my review.
I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, thanks to the authors, and I loved it. The narrators made the story even more amazing
