Really interesting concept, disappointing story. Most of the book is spent in biographies of the scientists, manufactured remembrances of conversations they had, and childhood obstacles overcome. The actual science and the mammoth project is shoved in at the end. (Hint: you haven't seen any woolly mammoths running around Harvard Square yet, so....who knows what's going on in this project.)
Interesting ideas, interesting science possibilities; but maybe this would have been a better magazine article.
