The Brutish Museums: The Benin Bronzes, Colonial Violence and Cultural Restitution by Dan Hicks

2.0

This book was honestly so disappointing. I fully support that there are some works that will have a more academic tone. But this book is very hard to read, and most of it comes down to writing style. Many sentences are too long, and the author unfortunately does not construct a readable narrative. While I give credit for the extensive amount of research, it is just not presented well. It's a shame because this is such an important subject matter.
