Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two by J.K. Rowling

3.0

I loved the setup of this play-- Harry Potter's son Albus is Draco Malfoy's son's best friend, and gets sorted into an unexpected house. And unlike some other readers, Harry's fraught relationship with his son didn't seem out of character to me. At least, not at first. But by the end, the whole thing had taken on a soap opera feeling that lost me. I'd still love to see it on stage--I've heard it is groundbreaking in its special effects, but as a script, I was a bit disappointed. Still, if you're a Harry fan, well worth reading.
