This series has me in an absolute CHOKEHOLD.
Glow of the Everflame is the second book in the Kindred's Curse series and is a fantastic installment. From the constant action to the betrayals and twists/turns, I wasn't bored for a single second.
Penn Cole seamlessly builds our main and side characters in this book. I knew I was especially invested in the success of our FMC because I wanted to smack her/throw her out the window for 85% of the book. Also, this MMC???? HELLO, new book boyfriend. I am a sucker for found family, and Penn Cole beautifully executes this trope across our main and side characters—I love so many of them already, especially Taran.
This may be the slowest of slow burns that I've ever read, so I hope that I will be rewarded for my patience in book 3.
Penn Cole is queen of the cliff hangers. Immediately grabbed for book 3!
