This is charming. The FMC, Violet, needs to secure a marriage but keeps refusing or is refused by all the options put before her from a matchmaker. She is resolved to become a governess when in walks the matchmakers next client: a hulking Orc who, inhaling deeply, immediately demands Violet.
What proceeds is a story of respect and trust as they journey back to the orc lands. Violet has touch issues and Maruc gives her the space and acceptance she needs to come to him on her own time; with the occasional little push when he gets carried away. It’s sweet but not saccharine with lovely emotional intimacy as Violet is given control to discover herself and Maruc. Highly recommend.
