A thriller romance you say? Say no more. This was fun! I’ve just started dabbling in thrillers so when I saw Hemlock also had a romance element, I just had to pick it up. I thought Kiersten Modglin did a really good job intertwining the two genres although, let’s be honest, the story favored the romance side a bit more. I’m not complaining at all.

Want another bonus? There’s a little bit of a love triangle situation going on and you guys know I love that shit 😂. Gimmie all the jealousy! I did have a pretty clear idea from the beginning who I wanted Maggie to pick, but there were plenty of times I could see her going the other way. That combined with her haunted as shit house and both men helping her?? I was kept guessing what the hell was going on until the very end. With both the romance and thriller aspect.

I also really enjoyed the suspense and mystery of Maggie’s house. I was sketched the eff out. Idk how she continued sleeping in that damn place. After the first night I would have hightailed my ass right out of there. My only complaint is how everything was revealed in the end. It just fell a little flat for me. The reasoning for everything was a little silly in my opinion. Regardless, I did still enjoy the story.

I have to say, I really liked Kiersten’s writing! I’m really intrigued in reading more of her work. I’ve heard she’s one for quite the plot twist. Have you read any of her other books? Which is your favorite??
