I found this book to be a restful reading experience in itself. The book is split into 10 chapters counting down the 10 most restful activities that came to light in The Rest Test - an online survey where 18,000 people living in 135 different countries where asked questions about rest! Although it was interesting and well researched, for me it wasn’t anything new or ground breaking. However, I do find it helpful to read about the science of how to rest and how to look after yourself. Reading about how reading is restful was quite an amusing experience and one that enjoyed the most out of all the chapters.
The 10 restful activities: mindfulness, watching TV, daydreaming, a nice hot bath, a good walk, doing nothing in particular, listneing to music, I want to be alone, spending time in nature and reading :)
