I was so excited to finally read this book, and there was so many elements I enjoyed: cozy fantasy, 10/10 references to folklore and I loved the fmc.
Now I’m not sure if it’s because I’m in a reading slump but even with the amazing and descriptive writing but i was slightly disappointed!!
I didn’t love the romantic arc at all, I didn’t like Wendell for half of the book, and when he asks her to marry him, it was just so unexpected for me?? At one point he’s bringing girls back to their little cabin and then he’s flirting with Emily and then asking to marry her? Now I’ve been reading this book for a week and a bit so I may have missed/forgot parts of the romance but I feel like this book would have done perfectly fine without it!
