Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke

4.0

In 1902, an aspiring young poet Kappus decides to write Rilke, who was by then already well-known albeit impoverished, and this letter kickstarts their years-long correspondence and friendship. Rilke is a study in generosity— benevolent with his time and wisdom and affection. How lucky was Kappus to be at the receiving end of his mentorship and friendship, and how lucky are we to learn about his person and about life and solitude and writing through this collection. ♥️
