Too Late by C. Hoover
3.0

I originally read Too Late back in May of 2016 and had given it a 5 star rating because I really enjoyed this interestingly, new, darker side of Colleen. I liked that this story was completely different than all her other ones. I thought the writing was good and the book flowed well.

When I found out that the book was finally printed and that she had added more to the story, I immediately ordered myself a signed copy and decided to re-read the whole thing in order to have the story fresh in mind before diving into this new ending, and then it happened.

Sometimes you just shouldn't touch a good thing. Just leave it alone. Honestly, I felt the story could have ended at the first 'THE END'. The original epilogue wasn't really needed, but okay fine, if you want to throw another punch in there I get it. But to add an epilogue, to an epilogue, to another epilogue just wasn't necessary. If you were to tell me that there was some type of growth in the characters or in the story, but there's not. Sloan continues to be ....should we say passive to be nice? I wanted her to fight, grow some strength, slap the asshole across the face or something. And Asa???? How many lives does that guy have? The way he was able to just miraculously get out of certain situations had my eyes heavily rolling to the back of my head. Towards the end of my read I honestly wanted to just let out my frustrations by throwing my book against the wall, I was pissed.

They say a good book makes you feel all types of emotions, but I don't know, this new ending left me disappointed.
