this is the second book of the hazel wood duology.
with finch’s help, alice escaped the hinterland and her grandmother’s dark legacy. now, she and the other fairytales are in new york city. alice wants a new life without magic, but something is hunting down hinterland survivors, drawing her back in.
i read book one a few years ago, so i was very glad that we kind of got a quick recap in this book so that i wasn’t completely lost. something i liked about the first book were its eerie vibes, which i would say are present in this one as well. the writing style captured this feeling well.
