Elevation by Stephen King
5.0

As you can see, I finished it in a day. I was really nervous because of the low reviews. However, King surprised me with a feel good story-something I haven’t read from him yet. I didn’t believe that the story was slow at all. However, I am biased since I am a “lesbean”. Over the years, it’s been discussed if King is homophobic or not. I feel like he did a good job putting into perspective how being gay in a small, “rear view mirror town” is. It’s obviously not his best work in terms of horror, character/world development, or plot, but it felt like a breath of fresh air. Overall, I thought it was sweet and enjoyable.
