Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living

I read Offerman's books quite out of order, reading his newer one first and then this one 😅 This one fulfilled many of the wishes that I had with the first one I read, talking more about his childhood and acting career, especially Parks & Rec. He has so many hilarious and touching stories, and, yet again, I absolutely freaking adore how much he loves his wife. What fucking GOALS they are as a couple holy cow.
Like his other book, this one is mostly a joy to listen to because he's so freaking funny, and I agree with him on so many things, especially when it comes religion. My one issue is that it is hella preachy in a lot of places, especially when it comes to technology. He's not quite as bad a grumpy luddite as Graham McTavish in Clanlands or his own character of Ron Swanson, but it's still rather grating to have some older white dude telling you to stop relying so much on GPS, to spend less time looking at screens, etc. I totally get where he's coming from especially because this is HIS book about what HE sees as the best ways to live a fulfilling life, but still. Also, some of his opinions on hard work and loving what you do and you'll never work a day in your life rub me the wrong way.
But! Nick Offerman otherwise is just such a gem and so fun to listen to, and I'm absolutely glad I read this book.
