You can absolutely tell this book was a labor or love and care. The world was incredibly immersive and well thought out, with characters you easily fall in love with and root for—Kaladin has to be one of the strongest, most realistic hero types I’ve personally ever read! Brandon Sanderson knows exactly when to start mixing up the plot and focusing on other stories, making sure it doesn’t feel like you yourself have been on the Shattered Plains for 6 years. With an ending perfectly set up for book 2 (including a great sequence of shocking revelations for the main cast and crew), I can’t wait to read more!
Graphic: Gore, Violence, Blood, War, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Child death, Death, Suicidal thoughts
